AI Chat
Your personal AI assistant that knows everything you've saved. Ask questions, generate ideas, or just chat - with instant access to your entire knowledge base built into every conversation.
What is AI Chat
AI Chat is powered by Claude 4.5 Sonnet (opens in a new tab), an advanced language model from Anthropic similar to the widely known ChatGPT from OpenAI. But unlike standalone AI assistants, the AI chat in Edicek automatically has access to everything you've saved - articles, photos, notes, bookmarks, and all the content you've collected over time.
You don't need to remember what you saved or where you saved it. Just ask naturally, and the AI finds relevant information from your knowledge base and incorporates it into responses. If you ask about something you haven't saved, it still answers using its general knowledge - making it your primary AI assistant for any task.
The AI stays synchronized with your content. Every time you save a bookmark or add a note, your knowledge base updates automatically. Next time you chat, that new information is already available.
When you save new content, AI analysis and other AI features run in the background. Your saved item appears in your timeline immediately, but AI processing (like summarization, transcription, or metadata extraction) may take a few minutes to complete. Once processed, the content becomes fully searchable and available in AI Chat.
When to use AI Chat
Use as your main AI assistant for any task - even things unrelated to your saved content. It functions like ChatGPT or Claude, but with the added advantage that when you do have relevant saved content, responses become more personalized and useful.
Ask about your content directly when you need to find something specific. You might have saved an article about gardening months ago. Just ask "What did I save about tomato growing?" and the AI finds it and answers based on that content. You don't need to remember where you saved it or when.
Ask about your content indirectly by discussing topics naturally. Whenever you chat about subjects related to your saved content, the AI automatically prioritizes your knowledge base and the context of why you saved those items. If you saved articles about cooking techniques with notes about specific challenges, the AI references those notes when you discuss cooking - even if you don't explicitly ask about your saved content.
Get summaries and overviews of your saved content. Ask "Summarize the video I saved about healthy eating" or "What are the main points from everything I've saved about productivity?" The AI reviews your relevant bookmarks and creates comprehensive summaries based on your collected knowledge.
How conversations work
When you send a message, the AI receives your entire knowledge base as context. This happens automatically in the background - you don't configure anything.
Each conversation maintains context across multiple messages. You can ask follow-up questions, dig deeper into topics, or change direction naturally. The AI remembers the entire conversation thread.
Tips
One topic per conversation - For the best results, start a new chat for each topic or question. Don't hesitate to create many short, single-purpose conversations - even if it's just one question and answer. This helps the AI focus and give you more relevant responses based on your saved content.
Ask naturally - Talk to the AI like you would with a friend you confide in. You don't need to craft perfect queries or use formal language. Just chat naturally about what interests you or what you're looking for.
Add notes when saving - When you save bookmarks, write a quick note about why it's interesting or relevant. These notes help the AI understand context and give better answers when you ask about related topics later.
Chat in any language - Don't worry about language barriers. You can ask questions in English about content you saved in Czech, or vice versa. The AI understands and responds naturally across different languages, so use whatever language feels most comfortable for your question.
Use for brainstorming - Even without specific saved content on a topic, the AI is excellent for generating ideas, outlining projects, or working through problems. And if you do have relevant saved content, it makes connections you might have missed.
Limitations
No file uploads - You cannot attach documents, images, or files directly to chat messages. If you want the AI to reference file content, save it as a bookmark or note in Edicek first, then it becomes part of your searchable knowledge base.
Cannot create or edit your content - The AI can't directly create new bookmarks or notes, or modify existing ones. If it generates something useful you want to keep, copy it and save it manually to Edicek.
No web search - The AI doesn't search the internet or access current information beyond its training data. It only works with your saved knowledge base and its pre-trained knowledge. For real-time information or recent events, you'll need to save relevant sources first.
Large knowledge bases - If you've saved thousands of bookmarks with extensive content, the AI might not fit everything into a single conversation context. We're working on intelligent selection to include only the most relevant content for each conversation.
